Meet the founder of The Dental Room, Dr. Kamal Sekhon.
Known for her love of art, design and all things beautiful, Dr. Kamal was inspired to create a one-of-a-kind experience for her patients. A firm believer in bringing beauty to everyday life, Dr. Kamal strives to give her patients an extraordinary experience.

Dr. Kamal obtained her Bachelor of Science from the University of British Columbia. She completed her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the prestigious Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. Following graduation, she provided dental care in rural BC before returning to practice dentistry in her hometown.
Dr. Kamal is a member of the College of Dental Surgeons of BC, the British Columbia Dental Association, the Canadian Dental Association, the American Dental Association and the American Academy of Clear Aligners. She has taken the most extensive and comprehensive training for facial aesthetics and injectables from the Pacific Training Institute of Facial Aesthetics. Dr. Kamal maintains a strong interest in cosmetic dentistry and comprehensive smile design. With extensive knowledge and continued education, Dr. Kamal’s goal is to always provide the highest level of comprehensive dentistry to her patients. Dr. Kamal particularly enjoys working on pediatric patients. Her interest in children’s oral health has been evident in her published research on children’s pain behaviors in a dental setting.
Dr. Kamal loves to practice dentistry and cherishes each opportunity to create a beautiful smile. Through The Dental Room, she hopes to make a lasting impact in her patients’ oral health.

Dr. Imaan Bassi
Dentist
Dr. Imaan Bassi was born and raised in Langley, British Columbia, where her passion for dentistry began at a young age. Inspired by her own positive experiences with orthodontic treatment, she developed an early appreciation for the impact a healthy smile can have on a person’s confidence and well-being.
Dr. Bassi earned her Bachelor of Dental Science degree with Honours from the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia. She is committed to providing comprehensive, patient-centred care and enjoys all aspects of general dentistry, with a particular interest in restorative dentistry, endodontics (root canal therapy), prosthodontics, and extractions.
Having experienced dental anxiety herself, Dr. Bassi understands how intimidating dental visits can feel. She takes pride in creating a calm, supportive, and judgment-free environment where patients feel heard, comfortable, and confident throughout their treatment. Her gentle approach and empathetic nature help even the most anxious patients feel at ease.
Outside the office, Dr. Bassi enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, attending concerts and music festivals, discovering new restaurants and cafés, and making the most of every opportunity to travel and experience new places.
Kristy
Registered Dental Hygienist
Kristy is a caring and passionate dental hygienist dedicated to helping her patients achieve healthy, confident smiles. With a background in hairstyling, she has always loved helping people look and feel their best. She brings that same warm, gentle approach to dental care, ensuring every patient feels comfortable, supported, and confident throughout their visit.
Kristy is a graduate of the Vancouver College of Dental Hygiene, where she developed the knowledge and clinical skills to provide exceptional, patient-centered care.
Outside the clinic, Kristy enjoys spending time outdoors and appreciates the beauty of nature, embracing a healthy lifestyle both at work and at home.
Isleen
Registered Dental Hygienist
Isleen is a dedicated and compassionate dental hygienist committed to helping patients achieve and maintain optimal oral health. She earned her Diploma in Dental Hygiene from Vancouver College of Dental Hygiene, where she developed strong clinical skills and a patient-centered approach to care. Prior to pursuing dental hygiene, she completed her Bachelor’s in Psychology at Kwantlen Polytechnic University.
Her background in psychology enhances her ability to connect with patients and provide individualized care tailored to each person’s needs.Outside of the clinic, she enjoys traveling, exploring new cultures, and spending quality time with her friends and family.
Krizia
Admin
Krizia was born in the Philippines and moved to Vancouver at the age of 16. She’s been part of the dental field since 2021, after completing her MDOA certificate at Discovery Community College.
As the first friendly face you’ll see when you walk into our practice, Krizia loves getting to know our patients and making sure they feel welcomed and well taken care of. Her goal is always to ensure that every patient has a smooth and positive experience from start to finish. Outside of work, Krizia stays active by working out, playing with dogs, and enjoying the great outdoors through camping and hiking with friends.
Kawan
Certified Dental Assistant
Kawan joined The Dental Room team in 2023 after completing her Certified Dental Assisting program, and she has quickly become an invaluable part of our practice. Working closely with Dr. Kamal, Kawan plays a key role in making sure each patient feels comfortable and cared for during their visit.
From preparing treatment rooms to assisting with procedures, she’s always ready to help deliver the best care in a friendly, welcoming environment. When she’s not at the office, Kawan loves spending time with her friends and family, travelling, and enjoying walks with her dog.
